Full Stack Software Engineer
Our Engineering teams are in Cambridge (UK), Denver (USA), Salt Lake City (USA), and Ghent (Belgium) and are responsible for designing and developing our geospatial products which are available both as cloud services and for on-premises deployment. You will be helping to develop the next generation of innovative geospatial products that support mission-critical operations for our global customer base.

As an integral part of the Engineering team, the successful candidate will be developing new product releases to meet the growing list of requirements for our existing products and new industry vertical applications. You’ll need to:
- Design, implement, unit-test and maintain new additions to the software, while following our code and architecture guidelines. You are expected to work on a healthy mix of frontend and backend development.
- Track down, isolate and resolve bugs.
- Review code of fellow developers and process feedback after having your own code reviewed. We strive for high code quality, hence reviews are an integral part of our development processes.
- Collaborate with Product Management to refine feature requests, ensuring a smooth transition from requirements to implementation.
- Work in an agile environment, where you have frequent meetings with co-workers throughout the development cycle.
Essential
- You’ll be enthusiastic, with a strong technical background in general software engineering. Essential skills are:
- General knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.
- Professional experience building efficient server-side applications in Python.
- Professional experience building efficient client-side applications in JavaScript and React.
- Experience with SQL and RDBMS technology (e.g. PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLite).
- Experience integrating frontend and backend components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to present technical concepts to Software Architects and Engineers.
- Belgian citizenship or permanent residency required.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Desirable
Ideally, you’ll have several of the following:
- Knowledge of Java.
- Experience creating and running automated tests.
- Experience of working with PostGIS or other Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).
- Experience with web mapping frameworks (e.g. OpenLayers).
- Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience of working in an Agile environment, with an understanding of Scrum.
- Experience in the telecommunications and/or utility industry.

- A salary range of 3000-5000 euro's gross.
